What a great day out, couldn't ask for more action! Ronald and their crew joined us for an early morning fall trip on Lake Erie. Weather started clear but became cloudy in the afternoon. Water conditions at East Harbor State Park were solid for our Lake Erie Fishing Charters - Walleye Morning Trip with BlackH2oDog Charters.

Jeff and their crew joined us for an early morning fall outing on the water. Clear conditions throughout the day made for perfect fishing weather at East Harbor State Park. The calm waters and steady conditions set us up nicely for our 6 Hour Trip – Walleye (AM) with BlackH2oDog Charters.

Melissa and Mike were back from PA for another hands-on Lake Erie Walleye Experience.
We headed East of Kellys Island to 42 fow and set our lines.  The Off Shore Tackle Company OR 12 boards got a workout today.  Fish were coming in on a variety of approaches.
J7s on Big Fish Tuff Tackle Co. TruTrip 50s.  J9s on Dipsey 3 setting 65 back.  Jointed Reble Fastrac 65 back.
On the boards we ran BADMO Arrowhead spinners both single double.  50 and 70 back 3 oz.  
Reef Runner Tackle Company Deep Lil Rippers 30/80 on the Offshore boards.  
Speed was 2.3 mph
Melissa and Mike were hands on everything as we were all reelers and we played catch and release until the fish cleaner opened.

Melissa and Mike return for nonstop Lake Erie Walleye action

Darrin and son Rysty and son-in-law Mike were aboard for their first Lake Erie Walleye Experience.  We headed NE of KI and set our gear in 42 fow.  
It was a bit of a grind today, bits were very light on every rod.  Dipsey 3 setting Rapala J7s 61 back.  Big Fish Tuff Tackle Co. TruTrip 50s 50 back with crawler harnesses with BADMO LURES Arrowhead spinners.  On the Off Shore Tackle Company OR12 boards, we ran Ripplin Redfins 70 back on TruTrip 40s and crawler harnesses  50 to 70 back  with 3oz inline weights.
Speed was 2.1 to 2.2 mph

Family crew grinds out their first Lake Erie Walleye trip

What a blast this morning with this 1st time Lake Erie crew.  Trenton his son Abbot along with Brett and Damon were our to get hands on Lake Erie Walleye Experience.  
A short while after passing the Eagle leaving West Harbor, we reached the SE corner of the  KI Shoal, we set our gear and never got a break.  
Dipsey divers 3 setting with J7s.
Big Fish Tuff Tackle Co. TruTrip 50s 50 back with crawler harnesses with butterfly blades.
TruTrip 40s with BADMO Arrowhead single spinner withn11 mm beads.  On the inner Off Shore Tackle Company inline boards.
Outter boards were 3 oz inlines with Badmo crawler harnesses and Bandits 2 oz 90 back.
All rods were going off and everyone was busy.  
2.1 to 2.2 mph into and with the waves.

First-time Lake Erie crew reels nonstop Walleye action

Dennis and brother in law Jeff are visiting from Iowa to catch Lake Erie for Walleye because they needed it off their bucket list.  We headed East a little more than 25 miles and set up in 48 fow.  
We had 2 🔥 setups, the Dipsey 3 setting with Orange FJ7s 90 back and TruTrip 50s 50 and 60 back with butterfly blade harness.  
FJ7 took a Fish Ohio and a fry from this year. 
Close second was Bandit with Off Shore Tackle Company  2oz  Guppy weight 105 back behind OR-12 inline planner board.
We left at 7am and were done at  11, let these guys practice with the Offshore gear a little more after we all reeled our share.  
Nice cooler of Eyes headed back to Iowa.

Iowa crew checks Walleye off the bucket list on Lake Erie

Jeff and Dennis were back again today for another shot at Lake Erie Walleye.  With the predicted 15 to 20 mph winds 🌬🌊 we opted to do a Walleye Perch combo. The perch report is simple nothing going off of the Rattles.  So we put the casting harnesses to work in 6 to 20 fow.  For a strong  1 plus hours it was non-stop Catfish 3 to 6 pounds.  Then the Walleye heated up and they picked away until the had 2 - 2 day limits of Walleye heading back to Iowa.
We were within site of the Ship the entire day.
Great two days sharing Drift and Cast and open water trolling on Lake Erie.

Back-to-back Lake Erie Walleye limits for Jeff and Dennis

One for the books today! I took Rick and their crew out on Lake Erie for a morning of walleye fishing with BlackH2oDog Charters. We set off from East Harbor State Park Marina in Lakeside Marblehead, OH as summer was in full swing. The early morning started off a bit cloudy, but we were treated to clearing skies in the afternoon. The water conditions at East Harbor State Park were prime for a day of fishing.

Once the stage was set, we got down to business, employing a mix of techniques to entice those walleye. We started off trolling, which is always a solid choice for covering water on Lake Erie. As we moved along, we switched things up by casting crankbaits, giving us a more active approach. Despite our efforts and the variety of techniques, the walleye proved elusive on this outing. We didn't stick a trophy on this run, but every cast and minute on the water was worth it. Dan and Daniel long time repeat customer here  from Southern California wanted a Walleye meal before heading home.  
Goal one was accomplished in quick order.  3/4 oz casting harnesses 10 count.  
We worked water that is easily reachable from their Sandusky location.
Dan also wanted a little hands on setting  Dipsey Divers and TruTrip 50s.  I gave Dan and Daniel a refresher and they went to work.  Jointed Storm was the hot bait.  36 back on 3 setting.  BADMO LURES Arrowhead spinners on Dipsey 1.5 30 back and 40 back on TruTrip 50s.  Speed was 2.5 mph.

Father-Son Duo from SoCal Hooks Into Lake Erie Walleye Action

Late Friday evening reach out by Trenton and Kendra who were wrapping up a week at the Lake Erie Islands area.  We left West Harbor just before sunrise with a bright full moon in the Western sky.  Trenton had the hot hand to start us off casting a 3/4 worm harness with a gold blade on a 10 count.  It was about 6 to 1 on fish mostly around 14.5" to get a 16" to 19" keeper.  
As the sun climbed in the sky Kendra got hot and they both worked hard to capture their Lake Erie Walleye.
We battled with pesky white perch.  We found a really fast retrieve aided in keeping white perch at bay and the Walleye didn't mind.
Seems, I don't get may good pics on casting days.  Fish cleaner was at the docks when we arrived, so no fish pics today.

Hot bite and happy crew! I had the pleasure of taking David and their crew out on a fantastic afternoon trip with Black H2o Dog Charters in Lakeside Marblehead, OH. As summer settled in, we set out from East Harbor State Park under partly cloudy skies. The morning rain had cleared, leaving us with perfect conditions for our 4-hour Walleye adventure. Launching at 3:00 pm gave us the ideal window to target the evening bite. The water at East Harbor looked promising, and I was eager to put my years of experience on these waters to work for David and their crew. Colin and Crew were rescheduled from late 2023 due to high winds and waves.<div><br></div><div>We head west of the Islands at sunrise knowing we would be eventually be greated with a line of showers that would last about 2 hours. <div><span style="font-size: 16px;">Jerry and his father-in-law Rick were aboard for late afternoon Walleye charter.&nbsp; We left www.eastharborstateparkmarina.com and headed West of the Islands.&nbsp; We set a mix of Bandit Lures and Dead Eye Crank Baits .&nbsp; Baits were run 40 to 65 behind Off Shore Tackle Company Offshore planner boards.&nbsp; Big Fish Tuff Tackle Co. What a Hull of Walleye

Greg provided valuable help shaping metal for our home addition project, and as a token of gratitude, I invited him for an exciting fall Walleye fishing experience on Lake Erie. Today, the North winds in Cleveland (CLE) exceeded the forecast, reaching 20 mph with gusts up to 25. Despite the challenging conditions, with waves surpassing 5 feet, the Walleye were voraciously biting. Each catch was filled with Shad, and we achieved success by employing shallow divers with leads spanning from 25 to 60 feet. Lake Erie Class 

Today was a helping day at OSU's Lake Erie Sportfishing Class at Stone Laboratory.  Ashley and David were my students Eric Hirzel Sr. had another pair of anglers.<div><br></div><div>Lake Erie provided an abundance of Walleye for us today.  Being a class we ran multiple programs to shown the variety of methods that can be used to bring Walleye to the boat.</div><div><br></div><div>We started off with Big Fish Tuff Tackle Co. TruTrip 40s and 50s running spoons. Today's 2 hour Islands and Eyes on BlackH2oDog Charters was a Walleye beatdown.&nbsp;<div><br></div><div>Alice, Ella's and Baxter visiting the area from Atlanta wanted an opportunity to catch "a" Lake Erie Walleye.  This was a group of over-achievers.</div><div><br></div><div>They caught and released 16 Walleye from 16 to 24 inches and a handful of smaller Walleye.</div><div><br></div><div>TruTrip 50 on the corners with wormburners 24 back.</div><div><br></div><div>TruTrip 40s 25 and 30 back with BADMO LURES Arrowhead spoons  had multiple doubles coming to the net.</div><div><br></div><div>We set boards not far fron the harbor as this was only a 2 hour trip. Walleye Dog Days

BJ and John are two of my longest repeat clients.&nbsp;&nbsp;<div><br></div><div>On past outing they asked to fish with one of the BlackH2oDog Crew.  Bos'n was along for today Walleye harvest.</div><div><br></div><div>We have great conversations on our mutual interests in dogs.</div><div><br></div><div>We set our first rod at 7:05 and by 8am we had 15 in the box.  We spent a few more hours having conversations while netting Eyes and setting our Big Fish Tuff Tackle Co. Kevin his wife Lorly and sister Karen were out to catch some.of Lake Erie's finest Walleye. This was an awesome fun crew. Day 3 with Fisher onboard BlackH2oDog Charters.  We had 3 days booked for Walleye with the dogs.<div><br></div><div>After an hour delay  waiting for Scott and Clayton to arrive we were able to leave dock.  We headed between the Islands in search of the Walleye we left Saturday afternoon.  We found marks tight to the bottom and in the upper 10 feet of the water.&nbsp;</div><div><br></div><div>In a couple hours we had half our limit. Windy Walleye Day

Day 2 of bring your dog to work was a delayed start due early morning winds.<div><br></div><div>Robyn, Joe and Luke  got their sealegs early and went right to work sending Off Shore Tackle Company planner boards out and bringing Walleye in</div><div><br></div><div>Caping of the 1st hour was a giant 16 lb Catfish.  This 30 inch stopped the Offshore in its tracks.  We landed 3 Walleye by the time this giant reached the net.</div><div><br></div><div>Our program was all Crawler Harnesses 2oz 40/50 back, TruTrip 50s 28 back and Dipsey 3 setting 22 to 35 back.</div><div><br></div><div>The Fish Hawk Electronics X2 has been extremely useful in maintaining our speed.  Our best speed was .08 mph up to 1.3 mph.&nbsp;&nbsp;</div><div><br></div><div>Not wanting to drill holes we are using SeaSucker Marine vacuum mount for our Fish Hawk. Today was bring your dog to work day BlackH2oDog Charters.  Fisher was ready early and was the first to the boat today.<div><br></div><div>We meet Josh and Ryan and headed to the border to pull crawler harnesses.&nbsp;&nbsp;</div><div><br></div><div>We had a bit of a slow start in the gin clear water.  We picked away but no real pattern.  We made a run to visit the Pelicans and it was game on.  We dialed these fish in at 2 oz 40 and 50 back with the dipsey 3 setting at 28 back. TruTrip 50 was working  at 32 back.</div><div><br></div><div>Josh and Ryan made quick work of running the Off Shore Tackle Company planner boards.&nbsp;&nbsp;</div><div><br></div><div>Our speed was 1.5. mph.
